Each one of us is more than the worst things we have done.
-Bryan Stevensen [Just Mercy]
Kristy began her legal career over 21 years ago as a law office temp, learning everything from fax machines to legal terms from the ground up. Through strong mentorship and opportunities to work with bright and compassionate legal minds, she gained a depth of knowledge specializing in family law and civil litigation. She has a range of experience that extends to juvenile, business, probate, personal injury, and criminal law as well.

Through working for small law firms in Summit County, Utah, Kristy learned not only the tasks of a paralegal, but also small office administration. She has had the honor to work with and mentor new lawyers, legal assistants, and paralegals; sharing with them her decades of experience and compassion for humanity and profound desire to be part of a community that seeks truth, equality, and justice for all.

Kristy is the owner of Mountain Legal, a paralegal contract firm, providing support and services to attorneys and clients who need lower cost legal assistance in the community.
Kristy holds a B.A. in History, with an emphasis on War Crimes and Human Rights Violations, from the University of Utah. She earned her Paralegal Certificate from Utah Valley University and is currently in the process of obtaining her Certified Paralegal Certificate and Limited Practice Paralegal License.

Married  with three ambitious college-age children, Kristy lives on a small farm filled with rescue animals, including a 3-legged blind dog, a mule, and a donkey. She enjoys spending time outdoors in nature, reading, studying history, and playing games with family.
