Melissa has been a paralegal for over 19 years. She began her career in Indian law and criminal law. Since the beginning of her legal career Melissa has sought ways to help make an impact in her community and for people that could not otherwise afford or know where to turn for legal assistance.
Melissa has extensive experience in multiple areas of law but quickly realized as she worked with indigenous people her passion was helping families and their children resolve disputes amicably and affordably. Melissa has been a certified mediator since 2013. One of the highlights to her career was being able to introduce mediation and use the knowledge and skills she has obtained over the years to help families resolve disputes in Indian country.

Melissa has extensive experience in complex litigation including Criminal Law (prosecution and defense), Indian Law, Family Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Melissa began her career with Tsosie & Hatch where she was the firm’s lead Paralegal and office manager. It was there that she discovered what a difference she could make in the lives of those around her. Through Tsosie, Melissa was able to work with Echo Hawk Legal Services and Tribal hearings and trials throughout Indian country. She was able to manage and coordinate those cases with Federal and State officials, including the Utah State Governor’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and Courts of Indian Offenses. She has recently shifted to Green legal Group where she is excited to begin her new LPP practice.
